J. Tracy Bradshaw, Pre-Arrangement Specialist, Funeral Director, and Certified Life Celebrant, started at the Altmeyer Funeral Homes and Crematory in December 2000. Tracy was the manager of a local funeral home for two years before joining the Altmeyer staff. Tracy has been in the funeral service profession for 24 years  He attended Gupton-Jones College of Funeral Service in Decatur, GA, where he served as the chaplain of the PI SIGMA ETA funeral directors fraternity and graduated in March of 1994 with honors. Tracy was born in Norfolk, VA. and lives in Chesapeake with his wife April and their two sons, Joshua and Michael. “Meeting with families to discuss pre-arranged funeral plans is the most loving gift that we can provide for our loved ones. Knowing that all of the details have already been taken care of when a death occurs gives great peace of mind and makes everything so much simpler.”


Susan Perry

Susan E. Perry, is our Outreach Director. She is a licensed funeral director and a member of the NFDA, VFDA, TFDA, ICCFA, VHPCO, and the Coastal Virginia Task Forces on Aging. She is also a certified Life Celebrant, officiating funeral services tailored to individuals and their unique beliefs. She speaks publicly, advocating funeral service as a culture and as a community, to professional groups, national and local educational peer forums and at area events. She serves on the board of directors for I Need A Lighthouse, Inc., a local non-profit for suicide prevention, and on the board of directors for the Lorraine Bethea Hospice Foundation, a local non-profit granting intentional acts of kindness to hospice patients and their families. She is also the founder of the Grief Support Alliance here in Coastal Virginia. She is a volunteer for the Virginia Beach Medical Reserve Corps and an advocate for many other local causes in the area. Susan is dedicated to providing superb service to our community, our clients, and their families. “It is an honor to listen and help create the celebration of a life. Helping people through a difficult time and making a service memorable is what it’s all about.” She is a life-long resident of Virginia Beach and grew up in the Little Neck and North End areas.
